GUIDES
Last updated: 20 October 2026SMALL BRANDS: SHOOTING AND SOCIAL MEDIA
A small brand’s biggest headache is managing the photographer, the social media agency and ads separately. This guide explains what to look for when choosing a package that offers shooting and social media management together.
01Why shooting and management together?
Getting the shoot from one place and the posting from another creates coordination and consistency problems: the footage doesn’t fit the calendar and the brand language changes from post to post. When the same team does the shooting, the content plan and the management, the shoot is planned from the start around the posting calendar and formats.
02What should the package include? A checklist
- Is shooting included? Some packages only offer design and copy and expect you to provide the visuals. Ask whether shooting is part of the package.
- Content volume. How many photos, Reels and Stories per month?
- Content plan and calendar. Are posts planned ahead and submitted for your approval?
- Management. Are posting and community management (comments and messages) covered?
- Reporting. Which metrics does the monthly report include?
- Ads. Is ad management a separate service, and is the budget separate?
03How shooting and management work together
- 1. Brand and goal. Brand analysis is done and the account’s purpose (awareness, demand, community) becomes clear.
- 2. Identity and plan. Visual language, tone and content themes are defined; the content plan and calendar are prepared.
- 3. Shooting. The shoot plan is built around the content calendar; it takes place at the brand’s location or in a studio.
- 4. Management. Content is published and the community is managed.
- 5. Report and improvement. A report is shared at the end of each month; next month’s plan is updated based on results.
04Commitment period
Results on social media cannot be judged quickly. Promising a fixed time would not be right, but for a healthy evaluation at least 3 months of regular work is needed. Talk about the period and contract terms at the start; our guide on results and measurement in social media management helps with measurement.
05What determines the price?
What determines a package’s price is how many pieces of content are produced per month, how many shoot days are held and which services (shooting, management, ads) are included. When you get a proposal, have these items written separately. The ad budget is separate from the service fee and is paid directly to the ad platform; for details, see the first 6 weeks of ads.
06Identity first, or content?
For an account to look consistent, the first step is the brand’s visual language and tone. See our social media identity guide for details.
07How we work
We run shooting, content, social media and ads in the same team. For the scope of the service, see our social media management and shooting pages; for usage rights, revisions and payment, see how we work.
08Frequently asked questions
Why should a small brand get shooting and social media management from the same team?
When shooting and the posting plan are in the same team, the content is planned around the calendar from the start, there is no coordination between suppliers and the brand language stays consistent.
What is the minimum commitment for social media management?
For a healthy evaluation we recommend at least 3 months of regular work.
Is the ad budget included in the package?
No. The ad management service fee and the ad budget are kept separate; the budget is paid directly to the ad platform.
Who owns the content that is shot?
Delivered content belongs to the brand, with no time or channel limits.
How is reporting done?
At the end of every month we share a report covering reach, engagement, follower growth and the best-performing content, and present our recommendations for the next month.
