GUIDES
Last updated: 13 October 2026SOCIAL MEDIA RESULTS AND MEASUREMENT
The question brands ask most when starting social media management is: “When will we see results?” The right answer depends on what you count as a result. This guide explains which metrics to watch by goal, how much time to allow and how to read the monthly report.
01What does social media management cover?
Strategy, content plan and calendar, shooting or design, posting, community management and reporting. Ad management is usually a separate service and can be combined with social media. We describe the scope on our social media management page.
02When do results show?
Promising a fixed number of days would not be right: results vary with the sector, the account’s starting point, content quality and posting regularity. The general frame works like this:
- Month one. The plan and identity settle, first content goes live and first signs appear of which format works.
- Months two to three. It becomes clear which content works, and the plan is updated; steadiness in reach and engagement is expected.
- After month three. Trends become meaningful. That is why we recommend working together for at least 3 months.
03Which metrics by goal?
- Awareness goal: reach, impressions, follower growth.
- Interest goal: engagement rate, saves, shares, quality of comments.
- Demand goal: profile visits, link clicks, messages and appointment requests.
- Community goal: repeat engagers and satisfaction in comments and messages.
Instead of tracking every metric on every account, it is more efficient to work with three to five metrics that fit the goal.
04Misleading metrics
- Follower count alone. A large following from the wrong audience is useless.
- A single viral post. One piece of content taking off doesn’t show the account is healthy; steadiness is what counts.
- Like counts. A weak indicator next to stronger signals such as saves and shares.
05How to read the monthly report
Instead of drawing one number from the report, look for answers to three questions:
- What changed? Where are reach, engagement and follower growth compared with last month?
- What worked? Which topics and formats did the best-performing content use?
- What will we do? Which content will be produced more of, and which less, next month?
At the end of each month we share a report that answers these three questions.
06When does it make sense to support with ads?
Organic content lets you see which message works. Once those messages are clear, supporting them with ads speeds up reach. Ad management is a separate service, and the budget is kept separate from the service fee.
07Frequently asked questions
How long does social media management take to show results?
Promising a fixed time would not be right; it varies with the sector, the account’s starting point and content quality. For a healthy evaluation we recommend at least 3 months of regular work.
Which metrics matter most?
It depends on the goal. For awareness, reach and follower growth; for interest, engagement and saves; for demand, profile visits, messages and link clicks stand out.
Is follower count enough as a measure on its own?
No. Follower count alone doesn’t tell you whether it helps the brand. Reaching the right people, engagement and conversion to demand should be evaluated together.
How is reporting done?
At the end of every month we share a report covering reach, engagement, follower growth and the best-performing content, and present our recommendations for the next month.
